Question:
My motorhome has a double kwikee electric step. Sometimes it doesnt retract after making a short stop. What would likely cause that?

Since you said the issue occurs during short stops which would typically indicate the steps being used more frequently I'd say it sounds like a weak motor not able to extend/retract as needed. When electric motors start to fail typically it's when they are warmed up when they have issues.
A Kwikee double step is most likely the 32 series like the part # LC372261 which would use the part # LC379147 as a replacement.
Now if you are hearing any odd noises or there are other details that you can pass on to me that would make it easier for me to determine for sure what's going on.
