It sounds like you're looking for a replacement key that works with the 2982 lock core on your Thule, SportRack, or Sears XL Cargo Box. If this is the case the correct replacement is the part # THKEYN2982.
The Replacement Key # SR005 you referenced will only work with lock cores or keys that have 005 stamped onto it so it wouldn't be the right key for your box.
