Yes, the Tow/Haul button in your 2015 Toyota Tundra helps the transmission upshift and downshift in the best ways possible when towing but does not activate the brakes of the trailer which is really important. This feature does not replace the need for a brake controller.
You will want to install the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 you mentioned and the correct harness to do this is the part # 3031-P which is custom fit for your truck. This controller senses how hard you are applying the brakes and applies the trailer brakes in an equal amount to help you stop as safely as possible while minimizing wear on truck and trailer.
