What Components of a B and W Companion Slider Hitch Need to be Lubed

Question:

Is white lithium grease preferred for the bw companion slider on a 2018 F350. Also, is a nylon lube plate installed on the 5th wheel a better choice than grease on the horse shoe? Thanks in advance for your help.

The slider on the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch like part # BWRVK3400 does not need to be lubed. The saddle, jaws, polyurethane bushings, and coupler surface are the only components that need to be lubed according to the owner's manual. I have attached a photo of this for you as well. In order to lubricate the above components I recommend White Lithium Grease part # L11354.

The proper size Lube plate for use with the B and W Companion hitch is a 10 inch diameter lube plate which is much preffered to just lube alone.

We carry two lube plates this size. The Reese Lube Plate for Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 inch Diameter, item # RP83002, and the Curt 10 inch Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Lube Plate, item # 16721, will both work with your Companion hitch nicely.
