Updated 07/25/2019 | Published 07/24/2019 >
Question:
Have 2016 Volvo XC70 and just installed Curt C56386 wiring harness. The trailer and vehicle lights work fine but the only problem is the ceiling light in the rear ceiling panel stays lit and did not do this prior to harness installation. it has no switch. Amy suggestions as to cause and fix.

Most likely a pin in one of the connectors of the Curt trailer wiring harness # C56386 isn't seated properly and your interior light is somehow shorting to a circuit with power all the time which is causing it to be on all the time.
Try removing the harness to first see if the problem goes away and then from there reinstall it to see if reconnecting the connectors causes the pins to seat better and the problem to go away.
If the problem persists than the harness itself is damaged and needs to be replaced.
