What all is connected to your trailer battery? You'll need to go through the list of all connections made to your trailer's battery so that you can determine what all could be drawing amperage and then make sure all of those accessories are turned off when you are towing.
The 12 volt accessory pin of your 7-way can put a maintenance charge on your battery as well if needed. This is the pin in the 1:00 position on the vehicle 7-way. You'd want to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) to the positive battery post to do this.
