Im looking for a replacement key for a Karrite rooftop carrier with a lock number of 004. Thanks!

Karrite cargo boxes were made by Thule and so Thule parts, such as replacement keys, work just fine. For a new key 004 you can use the part # THKEYN004. They keys are sold individually so it might be a good idea to order a couple at one time so you always have a spare.

New keys may feel stiff in the lock the first few times you use them. Sometimes a gentle tap with a small hammer will help to fully seat the new key into the lock.

We also offer the replacement lock cores, such as core 004 that we offer as part # THLOCKN004 and this can be installed using the Universal Change Key # 853-1251. The lock must be in the UNlocked position in order to remove it with the change key. You can even use the Universal Change Key # 853-1251 to install a new lock core with a different code (which will require a new matching key) if you want a new lock/key for security reasons.
