Picking Out Replacement Landing Gear for 1994 Fleetwood Savanna 28.5 5th Wheel

Question:

Hi There, Well I can’t take pictures, but it is an open gear box, 2 gears in it, steel plates each side with bracket for motor bolted on. This is bolted onto and through the top of the leg as part of it. The legs are just like the ones that are built by Bulldog and Atwood. The legs have no markings at all as to what brand, If they did I would give that to you. Also it is not the gear kit or gear box that I need, it is either a new screw kit for inside the leg or a new leg. The screw is good but then nut is stripped out, and this is the lead leg. The set looks just like the BD500162 set with the motor up top and the gear set is open, 2 gears only. Any ideas? Thanks Just an other question for you. A friend has replacement landing gear on his trailer and the motor goes really slow. Is there a replacement motor that is more heavy duty than the one on it? The motor is a 142178 I believe.

Most likely you have something we offer a replacement for but in order to just replace a leg or a gear kit for the leg I need to know more info on the landing gear. Can you get me the brand of it by chance? It should be on the gear box or on the jacks. Pictures would help too. Especially of the gear box as that's typically easiest way to ID.

The landing gear description you mentioned doesn't sound like anything we'll have replacement parts for but we can definitely help you replace what you have with a new set that will get you back on the road. The powered Bulldog kit part # BD500162 would be a direct fit if you have 17-1/2 inches between the mounting brackets (underside of top bracket to top of lower bracket as shown in the diagram). This kit has motors on top of each jack leg. For a non-powered kit you'd instead want the part # RP500708. We've found that this is by far the most popular configuration. But worse case scenario you could move the brackets you have and this will still fit. For your friends question about the replacement motor for the Lippert kit we have the # LG-196308 which fits the same gear box and also has a higher capacity so it will work faster.
