Im looking for a ladder rack or roof rack system that would be compatible with the Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau cover, on a 2014 Ram 1500 Short bed w/o RamBox. This would be something that would still allow the Truxedo tonneau cover to roll up to the front while the rack is in place. Goal is to mount bikes to the rack. I like the idea of a roof rack, to keep the bikes lower than a ladder rack. But a roof rack might limit the rolling of the tonneau ...

The best option you have to carry bikes on your 2014 Ram 1500 would be to place them on the roof with a roof rack and roof mounted bike rack. The reason for this is because if you were to install a roof rack over the truck bed you would most likely run into issues with trying to roll the TruXedo Lo Pro QT Soft Roll-up Tonneau Cover part # TX545901 up. A ladder rack is not really a good option either because in order to work with the TruXedo Lo Pro QT it must mount inside the stake pockets which then means the crossbars spread would be to large for a bike rack.
For a roof rack, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System which consists of part # RRVA150B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK043. This system has aero crossbars so they will produce less wind noise and they also have a very sleek look. In order to mount your bikes I recommend the Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Bike Rack part # RRRBC050 because you don't have to take any parts off your bike to use this.
