Will the Light On a Trailer Work If the Vehicle Is Powered Off
Updated 05/29/2019 | Published 05/26/2019 >
Question:
Regarding part number 118506, do the trailer lights turn off when the vehicle is powered off?
asked by: Brian
Expert Reply:
The lights on your trailer should not operate if the key for the vehicle is in the off position while using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118506 on your 2011 Kia Sorento. The reason for this is because this harness is supplied a signal for the stop/turn circuits via the vehicle's stop/turn circuits which should not be active when the key is in the off position. You don't have to worry about battery drain with the above if that is what you are concerned with.
