Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring That Stopped Working on 2005 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I have a 2005 Silverado 2500 HD . My problem is my truck harness have power for driver side turn signal but no power for right side turn signal and markers and brake lights. I did a power check with a current tester only one light up no power on others

I'd check the backside of the connector for the condition of the wiring. Most likely something damaged some wiring if several of the circuits just stopped but one is left working. Another possibility is corrosion on the pins of your 7-way. You can try cleaning them with sandpaper. Or you can also check the trailer wiring fuses underhood to see if you can find any blown fuses.

hello jameson, the wiring on the backside of my 7pin connector is damaged on my 2005 silverado. id like to just replace that rear part of the wiring loom altogether as it appears to quick connect inline. however after hours online and multiple calls to auto parts stores i cant figure out exactly what that portion is terminology ia called so i can actually order it as it is on the truck stock.

@Mark that wiring harness portion would only be available at a GM dealer.
