Question:
I have a 2015 Ram promaster 1500 with no factory tow kit. I bought and installed the tow hitch and 4 pin from you guys about 2 years ago. Now I need a little bigger trailer, and everything over 12ft has the 7 pin. What parts do I need for that? I only see the replacement wiring for vehicles with the tow package, but I’m sure I’m missing something. I believe I need the brake controller, as well as wiring harness Thanks!

If the trailer you are getting has brakes you are correct that you will need to add a 7-way and brake controller to your 2015 Ram ProMaster 1500. Since you already have the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118618 on your Ram you are one step ahead of the game. The only other thing you will need to add is the wiring kit and brake controller itself.
For the brake controller I strongly recommend the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 because it is by far the easiest brake controller on the market to use while still providing you with effective, smooth braking.
The Curt Echo will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of your Ram; there is no other wiring needed and the only other thing you would need in order to use it is a smartphone. Once you download the Echo's app you will use that to set up the brake controller and you'll be ready to tow. I have added a link to a video review of this controller for you to check out so you can see for yourself just how easy it is to use.
In order to use the Echo you will need the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L which includes the wiring, hardware and 7-way to use the Echo.
If you decide to go with a more traditional brake controller such as the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR the install kit you need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which also has the 7-way and hardware needed to install this controller.
I've added links to video reviews of the Redarc as well as the install kits for you to take a look at.
