Question:
I was wondering if you could use this cargo carrier with a swing arm and which swing arm would be recommended if possible?

Yes, the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier # M2205 can be used with a swing-away arm, for which the Yakima BackSwing # Y02483 will work perfectly. This arm is a bit lighter (just 35 pounds) than the Kuat option we have available which allows for easily install/removal.
An important thing to keep in mind though when using this or any other swing-away arm is that it's going to reduce the capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. This just means that if your trailer hitch has a 350 pound tongue weight capacity this will be reduced to 175 pounds when using the adapter.
As long as you remain under your hitch's reduced limit with the combined weight of the Carpod Carrier (54 pounds), the BackSwing (35 pounds), and the weight of your cargo loaded into the carrier this is a great solution to allow for complete rear hatch/trunk access on the vehicle.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations that you can check out as well.
