Question:
Hello, I found out the nut inside the receiver of my Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack has bad threads. The Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 I bought will not thread through all the way, which causes rattling between my hitch and bike rack. The options I see online all require a hollow receiver. The Thule T2 classic # TH9045 has a nut welded inside the receiver. Is there an alternative anti rattle, lock, hitch pin I could purchase in lieu of the Thule Snug Tite? Another option I see is break off the nut welded and use one of your hitch pin/locks. Thank you for your help!

Since the Thule T2 Classic # TH9045 does have that weld nut on the inside of the receiver you could use the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 to help limit the movement of the bike rack if you are still able to get the lock on the Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2.
Aside from that you would need to break off the weld nut to use an anti-rattle device that uses the internal block like part # 63232.
We know that the Snug Tite Hitch Lock is a fit for the Thule T2 Classic bike rack so since the T2 Classic has a limited lifetime warranty it is worth checking into that as well so that you don't have to try alternative methods to get anti-rattle for your bike rack.
