Question:

Tell me a reasonable set up that gets me the left to right bars and attachments to carry 2 kayaks. I see many bars that will fit my Acadia but I don’t know which attachments fit each model of bars.

It sounds like you have raised side rails on your 2014 GMC Acadia and need a set of crossbars as well as a compatible kayak carrier. If that is the case then for a set of crossbars, there are few better options than the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack part # MPG216 with price in mind. This system has tracks for use with channel mounted accessories as well as aero shaped bars for the least wind resistance. It also comes with locks.

For a kayak carrier to haul two kayaks, you will want to use a j-style option because of the limited space you will have and the j-style is the easiest to use. For this, I recommend use two sets of the Malone J-Pro2 Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs part # MPG117MD. This kit comes with all the tie-downs you need so you will be ready to hit the road once you get setup.
