Inexpensive Kayak/Canoe Carrier for SUV Without Roof Rack

Do you recommend these blocks to be used as a roof rack on an SUV? I have found similar products for this use, but they are not long enough. 24inch is what I am looking for. If not, can you recommend something?

Yes, the Malone Standard Foam Blocks part # MAL75VR can be used on the roof of your SUV. However, you would want to position the blocks so that the majority of the weight rests on the B and C pillars of the vehicle. In order to secure the bow and stern of the boat you will also need the Malone Bow and Stern Tie-Down Kit part # MPG306.
Please note the foam blocks are only really for short distances. I would not use them for extended distances on the highway as they are just not designed for that. If this is what you will be needing the carrier for then please let me know the year, make, and model of your vehicle so I can provide additional solutions for you.
