Hello: I am having my 2018 Telsa Model 3 OEM roof rack delivered. I am shopping for a cargo box. Here is a box I am interested in: Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Glossy Item # TH6298B I have questions, hope you can help. 1. Will this Thule model be compatible? 2. Is this size safe, appropriate/compatible for my car? Do you have other cargo box recommendations?

I looked up your 2018 Tesla Model 3 OEM roof rack and they don't give any dimensions. Based on the aftermarket options for your vehicle, I can assume your crossbar spread and it will be within the requirements of the 23-5/8 to 36-7/8 inch on center requirement of the Thule Motion XT # TH629806. The OEM roof rack is rated for 150 lbs total and this carrier weighs 46 lbs so you will be able to carry 104 lbs of cargo maximum to stay within the capacity of your vehicle and roof rack.

This will be compatible, safe and appropriate for your 2018 Tesla Model 3.

For another compatible option I like almost as well as the Motion XT, I also recommend the Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black AeroSkin # TH6358B. This has a slightly different look and a will be 2.5 inches shorter, 2.25 inches narrower, but 1/4 inch taller.
