Is there a trunk-mount rack that would be safe for carbon-frame bicycles? I would like to carry two carbon-frame bikes on a 2015 Kia Soul. The guy in my bike shop said I could crack the frames if I use a rack that holds the bikes by the top tubes. Is that true? What do you recommend? Thank you.

For your trunk mounted bike rack for carbon fiber frame bicycles on your 2015 Kia Soul the options are limited for sure but there are a couple great options. I recommend the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Platform Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # TH65JV where the weight and support are on the wheels and not the frame. This rack also comes with all the locks to secure the rack and your bikes.
Another option is the Thule Gateway Pro 2-Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # TH88VR or 3 bike # TH78VR. These HideAway cradles are compatible with carbon frames as well. These bike racks are the more traditional hanging style and have the locks as well.
