Troubleshooting Flashing 0.0 on a Tekonsha Primus IQ When Not in Use on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:
I recently installed a Tekonsha primus IQ in my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. I had the factory harness with the wires that needed to be spliced to the controller wires. I triple checked that the connections were correct. The red LED displays 0.0 constantly without the trailer hooked up. I have read the display should shut off ater about 15 min. It has now been 12 hours and the display still says 0.0 i know this will not drain my battery but i would like it to function properly if it is supposed to shut off. if i had the brake light wire reversed with the trailer brake pwr wire, would it cause this problem ? Any help woul be gratly appreciated.

I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he said that to fix the problem you have all you will need to do is unplug the harness from the back of your Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller # TK90160 and let it sit for 5 minutes and then plug it back in and it should resolve itself.
He said that it sounds like when you were hooking up the power wire for this controller it may have not made a good connection initially so it confused the controller to the point that is doing what you are describing. My contact said that if there was any sparking or arcing when you were running the power wire for this controller that that is where your problem stemmed from.
Since you said you had some wires miss-wired at one point this could have caused this problem
