Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2013 Nissan Juke

Updated 07/01/2020 | Published 04/08/2019

Question:

It is soooo expensive to add roof racks to the Juke! How frustrating! Are there any rear carrier racks used with hitch that would fit this car??

We do have trailer hitches and hitch mount cargo carriers that are compatible with your 2013 Nissan Juke. If you have the AWD model I recommend the Draw-Tite # 24867 but if you have the FWD model than I recommend the Draw-Tite # 24892. I like the Draw-Tite over the Curt for your application because Curt requires the stabilizer strap # 18050 be used with a cargo carrier. Although it doesn't hurt anything (and can be beneficial) it isn't required by Draw-Tite.

Then for a cargo carrier I recommend the 24x60 etrailer.com Cargo Carrier # E98874. I recommend this carrier because it is a cost-effective option that gives you a 2" rise in the shank to help with ground clearance and it has a folding feature to help reduce rear clearance when not in use. This carrier comes with an anti-rattle pin to help reduce play in the receiver which can be upgraded to locking with part # e99047. You can also add Reflectors # RE15RK and/or a Light Kit # 52014 for increased visibility. You will also need tie-downs like part # IMF12637 to secure your cargo. I have personally gone out and handled this carrier and I really like it.

Is this suitable to pull a small pop up camper? Or is there a Class II hitch, which would be better for this purpose? Thank you!

As long as the camper is under 2,000 pounds, either the Draw-Tite # 24867 (for AWD models) or # 24892 (for FWD models) will work just fine. There isn't a higher-rated hitch available for your Nissan Juke. To pull a camper you'll also need a wiring harness to power the trailer lights. The Tekonsha T-One Harness # C56124 will work perfectly.
