What Size are the Trailer Hitch Bolts for a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question:
When purchasing the used vehicle, the dealer removed the trailer hitch, and discarded the bolts. Now, when trying to re-install the hitch, I need to know the replacement bolt sizes. The dealer was not helpful, and I have not been able to find the specific size info on the internet. Best I can fiqure is two metric bolts are required: M10-1.50x50, Class 10.9, and M12-1.75x50, Class 10.9, both Hex Flange bolts. The 50 mm length seems like overkill. Can you please confirm the specific bolt descriptions? Thanks for the help.

According to my research, you are correct in that you need both M10 and M12 fasteners. However, I don't have the exact length that you need. With that being said, so long as they go all the way through the weld nuts in the frame that won't really matter. I don't think 50mm is overkill so this is what I would try first.
I called Curt but they could not provide this information. The fasteners that you are referring to are supplied by the manufacturer which is why there is such limited information on them. I am very surprised that the dealer would not inform you of their size as they are the only ones that are going to for sure have this information. I suggest you reach out to another dealer and ask for the parts department specifically.
The other option you have is to go to a junkyard and pull the bolts yourself but I recommend just using these for the correct size and then going to buy new.
