Curt Trailer Hitch Installation on 2019 Toyota Camry
Updated 03/28/2019 | Published 03/26/2019 >
Question:
Ive followed the instructions, drilled and enlarged holes. But the frame on the passenger side has an additional layer inside at the bolt holes locations that makes it seem impossible to fish the bolt and backing plates into place. Am I missing something? Is there a trick to doing this? I would appreciate your help.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11576 on your 2019 Camry will fit. The double wall on that frame does make it a little tricky to get those bolts and plates into the correct position. I reached out to my tech contact at Curt who said you will need to enlarge the holes as previously stated and he said they reverse fishwire the bolts and blocks into place.
Reverse fishwiring is when you put on the backing plate, thread on the bolt, then shove them into the same hole they will need to come out of. You will be individually pushing them into the hollow frame and then using the wire to align them and pull into place so the bolt and backing plate seat properly.
