The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13038 is not a fit for your 1996 Ford F-250. For a similar fit, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41504 which is rated for 5,000 lbs without weight distribution or 10,000 lbs with weight distribution.

For your 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Ball Mount # C45900 which is adjustable so you can tow level with the 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball.

The Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 41504 will fit your spare tire. When researching this I also saw that you will need the Fastener Kit for Ford Trucks # 01685 based on the year of your truck. This hitch will work well with the Curt adjustable ball mount # C45900 we previously discussed. I recommend the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Padlock Style # 5201 to protect your investment.
