Question:
2006 Envoy Can the Timbren SES and Firestone air ride systems be used together?
asked by: Steve B
Expert Reply:
The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRETB can be used on your 2006 GMC Envoy at the same time as the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4108 because they are not installed in the same location, however I don't recommend installing both. They basically are designed to do the same thing in helping to stabilize your ride and add some shock absorption so you won't really benefit any from having both installed simultaneously.
They won't increase your load carrying capacity and are not designed to be used in place of working factory suspension. The biggest difference is the adjustability of the air springs and the maintenance free aspect of the Timbren springs.
