Question:

Wont the bulk and height of the rolled up, retracted cover against the back window obstruct the fifth wheel when turning? Or does it rely on the aft slider position for clearance?

When the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK39331 is completely rolled up it has a diameter of 8 inches (see attached image). This means it will add 8 inches of height from the bed rails and 8 inches of length from the cab. Unless you are already cutting it really close this should not cause any issues with regards to clearance when making turns with your 5th wheel trailer.

You can also take a quick measurement to see how much clearance you currently have between the bed rails on your Ram and the trailer overhang. If it's more than 8 inches then there won't be any potential for contact.

When making really tight turns your slider hitch will indeed provide you with the necessary clearance to avoid any contact with the cab or tonneau cover. Almost all sliding hitches provide 8 or more inches of travel which will offset the added width of the rolled BAK Revolver.
