Our 2018 GLE 350 has no towing equipment, nor the ACS system. We need hitch, wiring, trailer brake unit plus the other items like a ball mount and hitch ball.

To start your towing prep I recommend Draw-Tite's Class III hitch # 76141 for your GLE350 that does NOT have the Active Curve System. This will bolt on using the included hardware and you can figure on a little more than an hour to complete the install. An install video for an M-Class is linked for reference. For a ball mount and hitch ball I recommend the multi-fit kit # 989900 which has 2 hitch balls and 2 ball mounts for towing flexibility.
For a basic 4-pole trailer harness use ZCI kit # 119250KIT which requires no cutting or splicing of the GLE's wiring.
For a trailer brake controller I recommend Curt's innovative Echo # C51180, a Bluetooth-enabled brake controller that wirelessly connects to your smartphone, turning your phone into a brake control interface display. All you need to install this is wiring kit # ETBC7L. Plug it in, pair it to your phone and off you go. No messy wiring to deal with.
