Rooftop Cargo Box for 2010 Toyota Highlander with Factory Roof Rack

Question:

2010 Toyota Highlander Limited. Ive read your answer concerning this cargo box and a 2013 Highlander, but I wanted to make sure it will fit on my 2010 Highlander. So, here is my question: Will the Thule Motion XT XL 18 cu ft cargo box fit my 2010 Toyota Highlander Limited Roof Rack without rear hatch interference? Thank you.

I checked with Thule and the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629806 will actually not fit on the crossbars of your 2010 Toyota Highlander if they are the factory crossbars. The only cargo box that Thule (or Yakima) confirms will fit on a '10 Highlander's factory roof rack is the Thule Sidekick # TH78GC.

If your 2010 Highlander has aftermarket crossbars that are no more than 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-11/16 inches tall and spaced between 23-5/8 inches and 36-7/8 inches apart then the the Motion XT # TH629806 would fit. Should you have an aftermarket rack the only way to determine if this cargo box will interfere with the opening of the hatch is to take a quick measurement. Just measure from the middle of the front crossbar to the seam where the roof and hatch meet; if it is 51-1/4 inches or more, you will be able to open the hatch without interference. For the Sidekick that number is 36 inches.
