A trailer's 17-digit VIN will usually be located near the tongue area on an inside-facing surface where the information will be protected from impacts from road debris. Although this placement is common there is no absolute rule about where a trailer manufacturer has to place the VIN. The linked photo shows an example of a 17-digit VIN.

The Hammerblow trailer company from Wausau, Wisconsin was bought out by Cequent Performance Products, which is now known as Horizon Global. I checked with my contacts there about the Hammerblow trailers and they could not offer advice about the location of the VIN.

The VIN system was started in 1982. If you trailer is older than that it may not have one. In cases like this you can have your local highway patrol assign one.

@JuanS we don't have a way of knowing where it would be located. It is typically on the driver's side near the front.

@Ronnie There isn't a way for us to know exactly where your VIN will be located on your trailer. Most times it will be on the inside of the a-frame or somewhere where it wont be an easy target for road debris.
