I am going to replace my ball in my truck bed, it is old and showing some wear. Is the weight stamp on the top of the ball the weight you can tow or the tongue weight? Thank you

Expert Reply:
The weight capacity that is stamped on the top of a hitch ball like the part # C48830 is the trailer weight capacity it can tow and not the tongue weight. This hitch ball has a weight capacity of 16,000 lbs.
