What Type of Metal is Fastway Universal Coupler Lock # FA86-0015-312

Question:
What type of metal is the bottom portion of the lock made of? Is it designed to withstand a pry bar or a sledgehammer impact? I am interested in FA86-0015-312, but I would think that all of the locks would use the same material.

The Fastway Universal Coupler Lock # FA86-0015-312 that you referenced is made from hardened steel for the shackle and diecast steel for the housing and is designed to withstand most attacks. It would take some serious time to defeat this with a pry bar and sledgehammer. The sledge would also make quite a bit of noise which thieves generally try to avoid.
