On a 4 wheel drive vehicle, you can put chains on all 4 tires as long as you are in 4 wheel drive. Otherwise the chains would go on the main drive wheels. In the case of a truck, that will be the rear wheels. You will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine what the manufacturer recommends for the use of tire chains on your truck.
If it states that you can use them on all 4 wheels, you would need two sets. Or for just the rear wheels, one set. I have included a link to our tire chain FAQ articles for you.
