The hands free liftgate sensor on your 2018 Ford Escape will NOT need to be relocated to install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36529. Now with that being said, you will have to place your foot on either side of the receiver tube to activate the gate but that is it and there will be no other issues. This hitch installs using pre-drilled holes in the frame rail and will be an excellent option for you.
