Recommended 13 Inch Trailer Tires for 20 Foot Pontoon Boat Trailer
Updated 08/13/2018 | Published 08/12/2018 >
Question:
I have a 20 foot pontoon boat with a 50 hp 2 stroke outboard and a trailer with 13 inch tires. I would guess total weight would be between 2,500 lbs and 3,000 lbs. I prefer to err on the side of caution. I will be towing in 110 degree plus weather through the desert in Arizona where the speed limit is 70mph. From what I know a 175/80r-13 radial trailer with an E rating should do the job. Is this correct and if so where can I find a set? Thank you

Based on the information you provided, an ST175/80R13 tire should work great on your pontoon boat trailer. The Kenda Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10210 that you were looking at is a great choice. It features a maximum load of 1,610 pounds at 65 psi (Load Range D) which will give you a combined capacity of 3,220 pounds if you have a single axle trailer (2 tires). Its 81 mph speed rating will also allow you to comfortably travel the speed limit as you make your way through Arizona. We do not currently have an ST175/80R13 trailer tire available with a Load Range E.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this particular tire that you can also check out.
