Recommended Reverse Lockout Solenoid for Titan Disc Brake Surge Actuating Coupler

Updated 08/13/2018 | Published 08/11/2018

Question:

In your description for this disc brake actuator T4846700183 you say Because this actuator does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes This confuses me because I did not think there was such a thing as free backing disc brakes? Assuming that there is no such thing, how is this supposed to work with disc brakes, surely there has to be some locking mechanism.. Thank you

You are correct that there isn't a free backing disc brake assembly. I will have that description updated.

What you will want to use for the Titan Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Disc # T4846700183 is the Replacement Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators with Reverse Lockouts # T4748800. This electric solenoid is the best option to lockout your trailer brake actuating coupler so you can back up your trailer. There is not a lockout integrated into the coupler, so an external lockout is required.
