Question:
Our 2009 Forest River, Wide body, Cedar Creek, Silverback 30RE has 6000 lb Lipert tandem axles. We have put on 80 thousand miles and 3 sets of springs. The fifth wheel came from the factory with 4 leaf springs rated for 2400 lbs. and are now using 6 leaf springs rated for 3400 lbs. and still after hitting a frost heave on the way back home this spring, we are looking at replacing at least one more flattened spring. On the scales the axles are carrying 11,000 lbs. Is there a shock kit engineered for my fifth wheel.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, for your 2009 Forest River Cedar Creek 30RE I recommend using the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks part # LC281281. This kit comes with everything you need to install on your trailer. It will help to manage road shock which will both provide a smoother ride an help preserve your existing suspension components (i.e. leaf springs).
I have attached a review video on the above shock kit for you as well a picture of them installed.
