Question:
I have a Pathfinder SE 2008 with 4 pin not a 7 pin factory plug. Please advise how to install this brake controller with a 4 pin. What other wiring is needed?

Since your 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE did not come with a factory 7-way connector, you will not utilize the Tekonsha Wire Adapter, part # 3050-P.
You would need to order the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, and the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 includes all the wiring and connectors needed for installation of the brake controller.
To install, you begin by plugging in your existing 4-way to the 4-way on part # ETBC7. Then, you will connect the remaining wires. The White wire is ground and should be connected to a clean metal surface on the vehicles frame. The Black wire will be connected to the Black wire inside the duplex cable and ran to front of vehicle and connected to the positive battery terminal via included 40 amp circuit breaker. The Blue wire will be connected to the White wire inside the duplex cable, and ran to the front of the vehicle and later will be connected to the brake controller. The Purple wire can be connected to the reverse lights if the trailer has reverse lights or can be taped off and tied out of the way if not being used.
To wire the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller, the wires on the back of the brake controller will need to be hard-wired. The White wire will be connected to the negative battery terminal. The Black wire will be ran to the positive battery terminal via 20 or 30 amp circuit breaker, as specified in the P2 instructions. The Blue wire will connect to the White wire in the duplex cable that was ran up earlier. The Red wire will be connected to the stoplight switch near the brake pedal, this wire will only have signal when the brake pedal is pressed down. You will want to use a circuit breaker, part # 3808 to find this wire.
I have linked instructions and a video installation of the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller, part # 90185 and the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7.
