Question:

I have a sears X-Cargo 20, and I need a new core assembly for it. Ive looked up the key code and it a 2808. When opened, the lock squeezes two metal hooks together and it releases from the latch assembly. The replace on the your site just turns and latches. Do I have to drill out and install a new core assembly?

The Sears X-Cargo rooftop carriers were made by Thule/SportRack and over the years the lock hardware changed. In some cases original replacement parts will not be available but substitute parts can be used to keep the box in service.

For a hook-type lock, latch and key kit we offer part # SR03807 and for a removable lock core kit we have part # TH450200. If neither of these matches your box please send us a photo to show us what lock it has.
