Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System for Trailer with 1,065 lb Tongue Weight

Question:
Looking to upgrade my hitch system. Just purchased a trailer and not comfortable towing with my current setup. Getting lots of sway. I Have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with 5.7 liter. Towing a 36 foot 2015 Cougar GRVW of 9600lbs and hitch weigh of 1065. Thought this Reese Steadi-Flex model would work. What do you think?

WD systems are great at minimizing sway from passing semi trucks and high winds but they are not designed to prevent persistent sway as that's a loading problem. You need to get as much weight forward in the trailer as you can as it sounds like your tongue weight is too low. You also want to make sure your trailer is sitting as level as possible and that your trailer suspension is not worn out. Also you can check to make sure your tires are inflated to the max psi for them that is on the sidewall of the trailer tire.
That said, the Reese Steadi-Flex system part # RP66560 that you referenced would be a great choice for a tongue weight of 1,065 lb since it has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs.
Since your Ram is a 1500 you should verify that your truck has the towing capacity needed for your trailer. If you are exceeding it's capacity there's no WD system that will make your setup safe.
