Does Odometer Accumulate Miles When Vehicle is Being Flat Towed
Updated 04/25/2018 | Published 04/24/2018 >
Question:
I haven’t been paying attention but when we tow our 2017 jeep Cherokee it seems to be running the odometer is this correct? Is there anyway to get the odometer disconnected while flat towing?

Expert Reply:
No, when you are flat towing a vehicle like your 2017 Jeep Cherokee the vehicle's odometer will not keep track of the miles just as if you were driving the vehicle.
On newer vehicles like your that have digital odometers nearly all of them do not accumulate miles when being flat towed.
