Best Tonneau Cover for Use with Chest Style Toolbox on a 2017 Ram 3500

Wondering how wide are the side rails on the TruXedo Pro X15 Soft Tonneau Cover? I have a tool box in the bed of the truck, it sits 3/4inch below and 1 3/4inch from the inside edge of the bed rails. I also have 1 3/4inch from the front edge to the tool box lid..Thanks for the info. I pull a 5th wheel and am looking for a tonneau cover. I would like it to be low profile as not to interfere with the trailer/truck clearance. If the X-15 rails are too wide, maybe you would have a suggestion as to another cover.

The side rails that attach the TruXedo Pro X15 Soft Tonneau Cover part # TX1446901 for 6-1/2' beds or part # TX1448901 for 8' beds to the bed rails on your 2017 Ram 3500 will stick out 3" from each side. Therefore, the TruXedo Pro X15 will not allow you to open the lid on your toolbox if the measurements you provided are correct.
Instead, you will want to consider a tonneau cover that mounts on top of the bed rails like the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover part # TX246901 for 6-1/2' beds or part # TX248901 for 8' beds. Unfortunately, none of the tonneau covers we have for your truck that mount inside the bed rails are going to provide enough clearance for the toolbox.
The TruXedo TruXport will be an excellent option for you and you will not need to worry about interference with the 5th wheel hitch or toolbox.
