Question:
Hello I am looking for help choosing a proportional brake controller for my 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara and the appropriate wiring kits. The Suzuki does not have any trailer or trailer brake wiring at this time. I need to end up with a 7 pin connector to hook up to our small pop up camper. Could you list the part number of what I will need? Thanks for your help and have great day.

I am not sure what equipment you have for towing your small pop-up camper so I am going to give you everything to get you setup and ready to go.
For a hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III, Item # 75448. It has a 2 inch opening with a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. It also has an easy, bolt-on installation with the hardware included. You will also need hitch components for towing so I recommend something like the Etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit, Item # 989891, that includes: A ball mount, 2 hitch balls (1-7/8 inch and 2 inch), a pin and clip, and a storage bag.
For wiring, you will start with the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness, Item # 56002. This includes the basic wiring and 4-Way Connector that you need and plugs in behind the trim panels in the cargo area on the driver and passenger side.
Like you mentioned, you will need a brake controller for your trailer which means you will need a 7-Way connector. With your 4-Way installed, you need the Universal Installation Kit For Trailer Brake Controller, Item # ETBC7. The kit contains everything needed to install a brake controller, including the adapter to convert the 4-Way connector to a 7-Way connector, all wire, circuit breakers and hardware. In the end, you will have both a 4-Way and 7-Way connector option.
You will then need to choose a brake controller. I strongly suggest going with a proportional controller. A proportional controller uses a built-in accelerometer to determine how quickly the vehicle is braking. It sends the correct amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so that the trailer and the tow vehicle stop at the same rate. This leads to safer and more predictable braking and prevents your vehicle or trailer brakes wearing out too quickly. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, Item # 90195.
