Good question.

You can tow with a vehicle up to whatever trailer weight its manufacturer says you can. Your owner's manual should indicate towing capacity. I checked an online edition of the manual and towing the car when it is disabled is covered starting on page 6-27 but there is no mention made to trailer towing. You will want to check the printed manual supplied with the car to confirm if it can tow and if so how much trailer weight.

Sometimes a hitch that is made for a given car will have a higher towing capacity than the car itself. The lower-rated item always determines overall capacity.

We do offer a light-duty 1-1/4-inch hitch for your Veloster, part # C11254 from Curt. An install video is linked for you. For trailer wiring you can use kit # C56153 and for a ball mount use # C45521 along with 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # A-80 or 2-inch # A-82.
