Trailer Wiring Install Video for 2006 BMW X5

Question:

I just bought a 119250 ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector from you guys. During installation I found the red wire my old module has no red wire. Daniel K said: Your 2006 BMW X5 has a 3 wire Multiplexed wiring system that requires a different wiring configuration. Your vehicle has a combined stop and tail light circuit and an additional tail light wire. You will attach the red stop light wire to the combined circuit and the brown tail light wire to the independent tail light circuit. What is the combined circuitinch that I am supposed to hook the red wire too?

We actually had the chance to shoot an install video for the wiring harness part # 119250KIT in a 2013 BMW X5 but not a 2006. This will give you a good idea how your install will work. It will walk you through the entire process and show you which wires to attach to which circuits. Be careful, you will need to use the enclosed circuit tester to make sure that your wire colors are the same as the newer model in the video.
