5th Wheel Hitch Fit for a 1987 Ford F-350 with Demco SL Series Base Rails
Published 02/09/2018 >
Question:
I have a 1987 F350 Ford which had a SL16 installed. The hitch went with the trailer when sold leaving me with the Base Rails installed. This was the days before a need for sliding the hitch forward or back was needed. Id like to use the Base Rails installed. They measure 27 inches between pin pulls of Side Rails. The spacing side to side of Side Rail holes are 40 1/2 inches. Will the Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel trailer hitch work? Iam reluctant to replace Base rails as they are welded to frame. Thanks in advance

The Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches used none industry standard base rails that were specific to the hitch. If you currently have the Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # DM8553003-12 installed then you can use the Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM6076SL-16K or the Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM6076SL-21K.
I have attached an install video of the above hitch for you as well.
