The Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX92590 referenced in your question, which is confirmed to fit your 2017 Honda Ridgeline, does not feature latches on the middle section. This is to allow for easy folding when you need to gain access to the truck bed, as you will only need to undo the spring-loaded clamps at the rear panel to fold up the cover. The weight of the cover, along with the low-profile design and front and rear clamps will keep the cover from moving around. You will not have any issues with the sides bouncing around while you travel.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this tonneau cover so you can get a closer look at it in action. I have also included the written installation instructions that you can use for reference.
