Can this be used on a standard garden hose?

The Camco RV Water Line Blow-Out Plug w/ Quick Connect - Brass # CAM36143 can be used with an air compressor to clean and dry out water lines in your RV, but it will also work to dry out your drinking water hose or even a garden hose as you mentioned.
If you are using it for drinking water systems, use an oil-less air compressor so you don't add compressor oil to your drinking water.
