will this work for my 2017 jeep patriot 2.4l auto not cvt?

Since your 2017 Jeep Patriot has an automatic transmission that is not a CVT then yes, the Derale cooler part # D15502 will work. CVT transmissions don't typically have the external cooler lines like the non-CVT transmissions have so based on that we know it will work.
