Would this work as an upgrade to replace the broken Shelby model 5854A 1000lbs on my Nytro boat trailer?

Yes, the Round Swivel Marine Jack # MJ-1500B that you referenced is a similar jack to the Shelby you have and would work well as a replacement. It has a higher capacity of 1,500 lbs so it will crank easier as well.
