Question:
Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM Item # D13035 How many of these adapters do I need to install the D13504 transmission cooler on my 2013 Silverado 5.3L/6L80E transmission lines? Are the lines the correct size for my truck? Is there a better cooler for my truck? It already has a factory cooler installed. I want to install another in parallel with it. I also want to install an external filter on my transmission like a remote oil filter system with a spin on filter. What is your recommendation for the easiest installation for this application? Any help on installation is appreciated.

In order to install a transmission cooler such as the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13504 on your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado without altering the factory transmission lines you would need to use one of the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM part # D13035. The adapter will need to be installed on the transmission fluid return line on the radiator.
The 11/32" transmission lines included in the above kit would be correct for your truck. As far as a transmission cooler recommendation, the above 8000 series you selected would be my recommendation as this is one of the larger plate and fin transmission coolers we have. As long as you have 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep of space to mount the cooler in front of your radiator/condenser behind your grill then this cooler will work well for you.
For a remote mounted transmission filter, I recommend using the Derale Remote Transmission Filter Kit part # D13090 which comes with everything you will need for installation. I have linked an installation video of the above transmission cooler installed on a similar 2009 GMC Yukon which will be very similar to the process you will need to complete in order to install the transmission cooler on your Silverado. If you need further help with installation, please let me know and I would be happy to help you.
