The magnets will not come into play with a fiberglass roof, but the suction cups will keep the light fixed in place. The unit is only 3 lbs total and that includes the controller box, so you won't have any problem.

For your application, you will be seen well and the suction cup mounts on the fiberglass roof will be more than adequate.
